The Institute for Culture of Ruthenians in Vojvodina supported the making of six short video stories and cartoons for children as a part of the project “Let’s learn the Ruthenian language together: Read to me!”. The premieres of these cartoons were held in the premises of the Institute, and then an interactive and creative workshop was traditionally held for children and parents after each screening. The project was realized by Aleksandra Bučko and Sanja Divljaković on behalf of the Journalist Association of Ruthenians, and it was financially supported by the Institute. All stories can be found on the official YouTube channel of the Institute.
The first story prepared by the project team was “Tidwick, the benevolent deer” by Dr Seuss. Zeljko Tot participated in the realization of the video stories as a cameraman, Jovan Zivkovic as an editor and animator. The story was made in cooperation with the NGO “Ruske slovo”, which published this story in 1953.
The second story is the retold “Cinderella” by Charles Perrault. It was narrated by Sanja Divljaković, the video was filmed by Željko Tot, the editing and animation was done by Jovan Živković, and professional help was provided by Sifija Nikolajević and Melanija Rimar.
The thirs is the story called “Why it’s good to be a fisherman” by Melania Rimar. The cameraman was Željko Tot, and the editor and animator was Jovan Živković. The story was made in cooperation with the NGO “Ruske slovo”, which published the story within the book “Train on a Rope” in 2016.
The fourth story was also told by Sanja Divljaković. It the story of the Grimm Brothers “Snow White”. The video material was recorded by Željko Tot, editing and animation were done by Jovan Živković, and professional help was provided by Sofija Nikolajević and Melanija Rimar.
The sixth premiere of cartoons and workshops for children was reserved for the story “Little Red Riding Hood” by the Grimm Brothers. The story was retold by Sanja Divljaković, and the animation and editing was done by Lidija Ivak, the sound by Milan Guzijan, and the professional help was provided by Tatjana Beuk Laćak and Melanija Rimar.
The introduction music and the music for all video stories and cartoons were made by Jovan Živković
After the premiere of each story, a thematic workshop was organized for children and their parents.
