The Ruthenian community was also presented at the AMATEO conference. Within the ceremonial hall of the Provincial Government, the singing group RKC performed, and at the Museum of Vojvodina, Women’s Association “Bajka” presented Ruthenian traditional food, tablecloths and towels, while young people from the “Taras Shevchenko” Cultural-artistic Society were dressed in traditional Ruthenian costume.
AMATEO is the European Network for Active Participation in Cultural Activities that promotes participation in volunteer and amateur art. Today there are about 30 national and regional associations from EU countries in this network. Among them is the Vojvodina Amateur Artists’ Union. This year, the AMATEO Network held its Annual General Meeting in Novi Sad on June 6-7. The main organisers of the conference were the Vojvodina Amateur Artists’ Union and the Cultural Center of Vojvodina “Miloš Crnjanski” (former Institute for Culture of Vojvodina).
