On March 9, as part of the International Book Fair at the Novi Sad Fair, publications in the Ruthenian language were presented.
The focus of the promotion of the Institute for culture of Ruthenians in Vojvodina was the “English-Rusyn Dictionary” by Prof. Dr. Mihajlo Fejsa and associates – the title presented by the director of the Institute, Saša Sabadoš, as a representative publication and a fundamental edition of Ruthenian linguistics, which has not only scientific value, but also wide practical application, as a handbook and textbook of the English language.
The author of the dictionary, prof. Dr. Mihajlo Fejsa pointed out that with the help of this book, after almost 40 years of work, our students finally have the opportunity to learn foreign words of the world language relying on their mother tongue, and not, as before, through intermediate textbooks and dictionaries in Serbian or other languages. Furthermore, English speakers can use the “English-Rusyn dictionary” to learn the Rusyn language.
After the Institute’s promotion, the editions of NIU “Ruske slovo” were presented. The promotion was organized by the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities.
