Yesterday, a book promotion event was held at the Institute for Culture of Ruthenians in Vojvodina. The event was organized to introduce the book “History of Ruthenians” („История Руснацох од Києвскей Руси по Горнїцу, Бачку и Срим”) authored by Dr. Janko Ramač and published by “Ruske Slovo” in collaboration with the Institute.
The event was a commemoration of the life and work of author, Prof. Dr. Janko Ramač and his brother Mihal Ramač, who completed a book. Although the brothers have passed away, their work has had a deep impact on the history and culture of our community. The book was discussed by Prof. Dr. Djura Hardi, Director of “Ruske Slovo” Dr. Boris Varga, and the Director of the Institute, Saša Sabadoš. Dr. Aleksander Mudri from the Department for Ruthenian Studies (Faculty of Philosophy, Novi Sad) talked about Janko Ramač as a friend and colleague. The event was moderated by journalist Mikola Šanta, and Marija Hornjak read a poem written by Mihal Ramač.
